Reverie
for oboe and harp
by Norman Weiss - American conductor and pianist
Reverie, originally written for oboe and piano, was written for Sherry Sylar, Associate Principal Oboe of the New York Philharmonic. The piece's premiere recording is included on her first solo album. The subsequently written version for oboe and string quartet should be played slightly faster than the original, with more of a "barcarolle" feel, and with less rubato. Conversely, the edition for oboe and harp should be played slightly slower.
The version for oboe and piano, as well as the version for oboe and string quartet is available here.
