I. Allegro con brio
II. Adagio
III. Allegro molto vivace
Edited by Milan Turkovic and William Waterhouse. Despite the works conventional title, it is both a duet for equal partners and unequivocally conceived for bassoon. The composer, who later dedicated a piano sonata to Beethoven, had surely been influenced by the latter's recent cello sonatas and occasional dispensing with bar lines.
