In the original printing of these Duos, the second was "for oboe and clarinet" and the third was "for flute and clarinet". In this edition the specified instrumentation for the second and third Duos has been exchanged, and some changes in tempo indications have been made, according to the composer's directions. Please note that Wallingford Riegger stated, in conversation with Henry Cowell, that the parts for flute and oboe were intended as interchangeable.
