Quintet, op. 37
for flute, clarinet, horn, bassoon, and piano
by Adolphe Blanc (1828-1885)
The French composer, conductor, and violinist Adolphe Blanc was born in Manosque Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and died in Paris. One might say that Blanc wrote in the Classical style during the Romantic Era. The majority of his compositions lie in the Viennese tradition of hausmusik for private performance, music that was essentially peripheral to the public musical life of contemporary Pairs, which was centered on opera.
Edited by John Wilcox.
