Composed in 2011, revised in 2015. This piece is challenging technically, as well as logistically. The writing necessitates the use of a low-A bell; a low-A extension will not work due to the passage work in the low register, and the composer notes that the line should not be taken up an octave. The first bassoon part goes up to high F.
