Part of "Brazilian Chamber Music" series published by Jeanne, Inc. Kinderszenen (Children's Scenes) for oboe, cello and piano recreates the atmosphere of Robert Schumann's homonymous work from personal and nationalistic standpoints. Kinderszenen has three movements: (1) Schumanniana is a homage to the German composer, making use of his compositional style; (2) Cantiga is based on the Brazilian folk tune 'A mare encheu,' traditionally sung in children's rounds; (3) Maracatu is a playful dance typical of North Brazil.
