for piano solo

ABOUT THE MUSIC
In the first prelude we have a solemn treatment of the key of C minor in what I call 'judgment.'
Prelude 2 is a polytonal study utilizing a simple tune and is dedicated to my second son Matthew
To my third son I dedicate prelude 3: a brilliant piece like an etude.
Prelude 4 is dedicated to my publisher T.D. Ellis.
Prelude 5, being profound and pensive in nature is dedicated to the Dalai Lama .
My wife Mary Jane has the dedication of prelude 6, A study in rhapsodic melodies.
To the man who has done so much for music at Saint Matthews Church - Terry Elsberry, I dedicate this jolly prelude 7.
I call prelude 8 'Sparks' for it sounds like small explosions at the top of piano.
To my great flutist friend Gergely Ittzes I dedicate prelude 9, a study in post Webern techniques.
Prelude 10 is named 'The Hermit' and is a mystical study, like the Tarot card named after it.
Temperance is the name of prelude 11 and deals with making solid decisions, and is dedicated to Dean Farwood.

Prelude 18 is stormy and fierce and is dedicated to my first son Geoff.

And to the wonderful pianist Randall Atcheson I dedicate prelude 20.
And to the great pianist Emanuel Ax I dedicate the last prelude, number 21.
