These hitherto unpublished two arias of Handel were written for the typical military band combination of two oboes, two horns, and bassoon, and were obviously used for such functions as the changing of the guard, then taking place daily at St. James' Park. The manuscript of these works is preserved in the Royal Library of the British Museum. Edited by Karl Haas.
