This Sonata in the fifth of a set published by the composer in 1732 under the title "XXXVIIe, Oeuvre de Mr. Boismortier, contenant V sonates en trio pour un Dessus et deux Basses". This edition comes with solo parts for oboe (or flute, or violin), and bassoon (or cello) as well as a keyboard continuo part, playable by piano, harpsichord, or cembalo. The bassoon/cello part is a true solo part, and does not merely double the basso line.
