Pat Gunter has been my friend for 45 years.  I first met Pat at the Indiana School of Music, in Bloomington, Indiana, in 1978 when she was getting her Masters in Bassoon Performance.  Pat's aesthetic, intelligence, humor, self-knowledge, and confidence made me want to get to know her.  Pat has a great depth of personhood and she is Hilarious.  Her delighted laugh will make anyone see the humor and absurdity in a situation.  Also, her Life Force is so strong.  All of this comes out in her beautiful bassoon playing.  I am honored to be her friend.
