Both of these works were composed in the 1790s and belong to the lighter genre of serenades and divertimentos popular at that time. The Variations employ the famous theme “La ci darem la mano” from Mozart's opera Don Giovanni. This set includes both the Trio, op. 87 as well as the "Variations in C" WoO 28 on La ci darem la mano, for 2OB/EH.
