Five Works of Jackson Pollock was composed in 2006 in Austin, Texas.
Each of the movements is inspired by a painting by American Painter Jackson Pollock. All five paintings were done in a ten year period, between 1942 and 1951.

Five Works of Jackson Pollock was recorded in 2008 as part of the Wild Basin Winds album High Wood.
Ian Davidson is Regents' and University Distinguished Professor at Texas State University. He also serves a Principal Oboe of the Austin Opera Orchestra and English Horn and Associate Principal Oboe of the Austin Symphony Orchestra.
