1. Scrambled Eggs; Buy My Fresh Eggs/ Omelette au lard; Cassons les ouefs
For Trio. A singing game from 1918. Dancers in a circle bump into each other to break the eggs.
2. Monday, Washday/ Lundi juor de lavage
Duet without keyboard. The workday week in song: Monday for washing, Tuesday for drying, Wednesday for ironing, Thursday for visiting the sick, Friday for mending, Saturday for shopping, and Sunday for worship.
3. Renaud
Bassoon or cello with keyboard. A very sad song. The husband dies on the day his son is born.
4. Flower Song/ Chansons du fleurs
Keyboard solo. A convent song from 1880. Three groups of girls represent the flowers.
5. The Return of the Soldier/ Le retour de soldat
Solo oboe or clarinet. A soldier returns unrecognized from the war. His wife recognizes the song he sings. A difficulty is discovered- when he left there were two children. Now there are four.
6. Sailing/ Dans les haubans
Solo bassoon or cello. A young man intends to build a boat and crew it with young maidens.
7. Falling down/ Michaud a tombe
Trio. A singing game from the lower St Lawrence Valley. Lots of yelling as Michaud climbs a tree and falls.
8. Germine
Oboe or clarinet with keyboard. A wandering knight returns to his wife.
9. The Lame Duck/ Petite boiteuse
Duet without keyboard. In the farmyard, a duck has a limp.
10. Forward March!/ En Avant!
Trio. A marching song for the end of the party.
