Composer's Notes:
A quiet and prayerful song without words.  This piece serves as a reminder that music and faith, no matter what events have transpired throughout history, have provided comfort and strength to the masses; and no matter what the dilemma, the most simple melody or smallest leap of faith can have a resounding influence on our lives and the lives of others.  Song of Praise for bassoon and piano was premiered by bassoonist Rodney Ackmann at the International Double Reed Society Conference on June 3, 2011.
