Transcribed and edited by M. Bruce Bower and Christopher Weait. Bach's Prelude and Fugue in Eb Major "St. Anne's" BWV552 was transcribed for double reed octet by the late M. Bruce Bower in 1978. It was first performed by the double reed section of the Toronto Symphony on the "Three Small Concerts" series. At the time, Bruce was contrabassoonist with the Toronto Symphony. He later became a member of the Montreal Symphony, and died in January, 1999. Bruce's original transcription was later revised by Christopher Weait.
